I like listening to country music some of the time. Tim McGraw is a favorite (one of his songs was the first dance song at my wedding).
I recently heard one of his newer songs, “Humble and Kind“. The first time I heard it, I was like “eh”. The next time, I was caught by words in the second verse:
“Bitterness keeps you from flying.”
Those words stopped me in my tracks with their truth. Bitterness, resentment, grudges — weights that will pull you down, poison that you drink in hopes it will hurt another.
I want to fly. I’m practicing letting the weights go.
What do you think about flying? I’d love to hear in the comments below.
